With an incredible amount of assistance (our infinite thanks to Dave & Ivy, Brian & Marg, Kalie and many more), we were able to get a majority our stuff into storage today. We packed everything up on a Sunday, drove it to its new home the same evening, and unpacked it all again on Monday morning.
It's funny: when you're moving all of your worldly possessions to and fro with your own two hands it can sometimes feel like you own far too many "things". At the same time, after you realize you just packed it all onto a seventeen foot U-Haul it can feel positively manageable. With most of the hard work out of the way, it's time to enjoy our families over the holidays before taking off!
Well, today was my last day at work for a while! Many members of my team at Qualcomm are people I've been working with since I graduated university in 2007, so it felt very strange to be walking away from my little cubicle. I put all my little trinkets in a box and that was pretty much that.
I don't think I've yet grasped the fact that I won't really be working for the next year. So far, it just feels like it's the weekend! Turns out it's going to be a long, long weekend. Goodbye to all of the wonderful people I've worked with over these last few years. It's been a blast!
